Description
Our Eighteen-Channel Impedance Tester will greatly speed impedance checking of pre and post implanted FMAs as well as other types of multi-electrode arrays.
The investigator can specify the connector model attached to the cable that is required for their specific multi-electrode assembly, whether it is a 0.05" or 0.025" nano Omnetics connector or even another connector system from another company. It can measure impedance values between 1 kilohm to 5 megohm and will display the value on an easy to read quality analog meter. A switch is provided, where in one position the IMP-2A-MC will test the electrode's impedance and in the other position will allow an externally provided current or voltage source to be applied to an electrode.
The external current or voltage source can be used to clean debris from the metal tip or to break down an oxide layer that can cause the impedance to read high, bubble testing, or lowering the tip impedance. A front panel calibration potentiometer allows one to easily calibrate the unit on any range using an external resistor or one can use the front panel calibration button to calibrate the IMP 2A and IMP-2A-MC. A battery test switch will indicate battery life on the analog meter.
The Single-Channel Impedance Tester operates with the same specifications as the Eighteen-Channel IMP-2A-MC, but only has a single input connector. Cables for the input and reference connectors are provided with convenient alligator clips to connect to an electrode.
