The model TIP-105 titanium pedestal was developed to house a single Omnetics nano connector, model number A8141-001 or equivalent, used in the fabrication of our FMA (Floating Micro-electrode Arrays). It may also be used in similarly designed chronic electrode systems using the same connector type. The titanium pedestal incorporates a silicone gasket and titanium lid, which is attached using 0-80 Allen Head Screws, so that when the animal has been returned to it's cage moisture and air borne debris cannot contaminate the connector contacts. the two "wings" witht holes 2.25 mm in diameter extending from the sides of the pedestal allow for easy fixation of the pedestal to the skull using cranial screws and cement. The connector is sealed at the bottom of the pedestal with a biocompatible epoxy.

Micro Probe recommends to have its technicians install the connector to the pedestal prior to shipping a FMA. However, the pedestal is also sold as a separate unit if the investigator desires to attach the connector themselves to the FMA or has other applications. The lid, screws, and Allen wrench are included as well as an extra silicone gasket.

Orientation of electrodes have been rotated 180 degrees for demonstration purposes only.
